On Saturday Brooke my 11 yr old daughter and I went for a ride in the canyon near our home. What a blast it was. We climbed steep hills and galloped a ton of the way. Lightning is the brown horse and Bubba is the white one, I actually rode Bubba and she Lightning. As we were galloping along I would hear sqeals of delight from behind me and then...."This.......is.......the.....best......day.....of......my.......life......." Cool, a couple hours well spent, I think I have throughly made her love riding. Sorry Brooke, hope I don't ruin you, I guess I should appologize to her future hubby for the expenses I will cause him!!!

That's so sweet! It's so fun to pass something we love so much down to our daughters. She's carrying on your legacy.

I'm glad to see the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree. Good luck holding Brooke back on her love of horses!!

What a fun way to spend a day with your daughter. My friend Lynn Homer who has 12 kids, said throughout teenage years, when he sensed one of them was in need, he would take them on a long ride, and riding was the time they opened their hearts to him.

What a great mother/daughter day. I love the relationships you have with your children. And I loved Brooke's comment about it being the best day ever. I'm sure it is in her journal.

Okay Shell, you need to put Egli and I on your blog list. You can't just have Hickman there!!!!!!!!!!

I remember being terrified when I would ride Teej (just relaized I don't know how to spell his name)and he would gallop. Sounds like Brooke thinks it is a blast though!
